The Florida Conference United Methodist Women has GREAT news to share with you! We are planning our very first spiritual retreat...VIRTUALLY!
That’s right…via Zoom! Covid-19 has taken our entire world in places we never thought we’d be, doing things we never thought we’d do and experiencing things we never thought we’d experience, but we are BOLD United Methodist Women and face any challenge! So, with that, your Florida Conference is pleased to bring you their first ever virtual retreat.
Our theme will be “Moving Forward by Faith” and our guest speaker will be Rev. Monique McBride. Monique has an amazing, spiritual time planned for us. There will be prayer times, meditations, worship, and four (4) workshops (one of which includes baking your own communion bread) and virtual communion (see below). The workshops will be approximately 45 minutes each with a short break after each workshop. You may attend ALL four workshops, or you can pick and choose which one(s) you would like to attend. Register once, attend as you like.
You will not be bored with this event, instead you will be transformed!

Do you ever find yourself drawing or making notes to stay focused during worship or meetings? If so, you might find Bible Journaling a beautiful way to engage with scripture.
Bible Journaling is thinking of your Bible as a space where you meet God and leave a record of your thoughts and emotions.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the art of Bible Journaling and practice different ways to explore this medium of scriptural study.
For this workshop, you will need: A Journaling Bible (a Bible that has large margins on the sides) or a Bible you don’t mind drawing and writing in, pencil, eraser, colored pencils, crayons.
Did you know that mindfulness is a practice of awareness which allows us to reflect upon our emotions, manage anxiety, and experience God.
This workshop will review the basics and benefits of mindfulness and meditation and practice several different helpful techniques.
For this workshop, you will need: A quiet space, paper, pencil.
If you are a list maker, a doodler, a “paper calendar” sort of a person, this workshop is for you. Bullet Journaling is an artful way of making lists, tracking data, and staying organized. This workshop will take the popular hobby of bullet Journaling and apply the technique to the practice of prayer.
For this workshop, you will need: Blank notebook, pencil, eraser, ruler, colored pencils or markers.
Baking Communion bread is a beautiful act of preparation of the heart, mind, and body for worship and reconciliation. Bring your laptop to your kitchen and bake together with others during this step-by-step workshop on baking gluten free Communion bread.
For this workshop, you will need: Gluten free flour (Bob’s Red Mill), Double acting baking powder, Salt, Milk, Honey, Vegetable Oil, Mixing Bowl, Rubber Spatula, Mason jar with lid, knife, cookie sheet, oven, oven mitts.
