United Women in Faith seeks to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship, and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities.

At the Florida Conference United Women in Faith, we envision a world where every woman is empowered to lead. Our commitment to nurturing women's spiritual growth and promoting advocacy for women, children and youth is at the heart of everything we do.
Our Florida Conference is divided into six district as listed on the map from North to South. We may gather as a local church unit or join with two or more churches as a cluster unit. Other places women may gather together are at college or university campuses, at a local business or retirement community or online using social media. There is also the United Women in Faith All Access website available for women who wish to reach out online to others, both in Florida and across the country.
How are we organized as a Sisterhood of Faith?
The hierarchy of our organization is structured as follows:

Our Mission
We seek to connect and nurture women through Christian spiritual formation, leadership development, creative fellowship and education so that they can inspire, influence and impact local and global communities.
Our Vision
We are a powerful, fearless force driven by God’s love and united in sisterhood. With a focus on women, children and youth, we act for justice and transform communities.
We face the realities we see in the world, even when they are not the ones we would like to see. However, our goal is not to bear witness simply to harms but also to God’s love by acting boldly to change those harms.
Our Action
Bold action, like faith, takes courage. Our bravery is inspired by God’s love and our powerful commitment to improve the lives of women, children and youth. United Women in Faith works for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems that harm women, children and youth—from racial and gender injustice to economic inequality, climate issues and more.

Eight women in 1869
Nearly half a million members today!
One remarkable history
Our 156-year legacy began with a few bold women determined to change the world for the better.
In 1869, Clementina Butler and Lois Parker, wives of missionaries to India, made a plea to a group of eight women in Boston about the spiritual and physical needs of poor women in India. They could not be treated by male doctors. Schooling for girls was almost non-existent. Help was desperately needed. They quickly called another meeting of more women. They wrote a constitution. And in short order, they organized the Methodist Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society (WFMS).
By November 1869, the newly formed organization raised funds and sent educator Isabella Thoburn and Dr. Clara Swain to India. Ms. Thoburn began a school with just six young girls that went on to become Isabella Thoburn College, Asia’s first women’s college. Dr. Swain’s medical work resulted in the first women’s hospital in Asia. Both institutions continue to serve the people of India today.
